Body wraps containing tea can be effective at reducing the appearance of cellulite. The caffeine from the tea will help fight cellulite, detoxifying and improving the skin's circulation.
To make a tea body wrap, boil 8 cups of distilled water in a pot, remove the water from the heat and add 1 cup of loose tea leaves. To avoid having to strain the water, it is helpful to tie the leaves in a muslin or organza bag before adding them to the pot. Let the tea steep until the temperature decreases enough for you to comfortably stick your hand into the pot. Simply add the salt and coconut oil together. You will not need much coconut oil! A little goes a long way! If using a white lotion, try using a touch more. Dip towels into the tea mixture and begin wrapping your body with them, starting from your ankles and going up to your neck. It is fine to use older towels or rags; you will need between 6 to10 towels.

boil the mixture for about 2-4mins but make sure it's still pretty liquidly turn off burner and throw a couple ace bandages in to absorb some of it. Once the water is comfortable to touch but not cold, dip towels into the mixture and begin wrapping your body from ankles to neck. Lie in the dry tub for about 1-2 hours and then take hot shower.
How to Wrap Your Body
  • Prepare a comfortable, warm and private room where you can relax while you are wrapped up. This can be messy so I would suggest taking the wrap in the bath tub.
  • Stand in the bathtub. Apply the ACE bandages to your naked body. Start at your ankles and wrap the length of the leg, overlapping the wrap by at least a ½ inch to keep the wrap secure. Move the bandages around the legs, thighs, buttocks, abs, arms and chest in a circular manner, cocooning the body. The bandages should be tight, but not overly constricted where it feels painful.
  • Depending on your size, you may be able to continue from your upper thigh around the hip. Wrap the hips, abdomen and chest.
  • Wrap your arms starting at the wrist. Once you reach the shoulder, bring the wrap across your chest, behind your back and over the shoulder. Repeat for the other arm.
  • Secure the bandages with metal clips if necessary. Attach the clip to both ends of the bandage or tuck in the end underneath the bandage to secure.
  • Do not wrap your head or neck area. Move carefully for the next 50 minutes.
  • Take remaining solution left in the pot and pour it into a squirt bottle.  Squirt more solution onto any areas that may feel like they are drying out.
  • Lie down in the tub for 45 minutes to an hour. During this time, you should stay warm. You may also cover yourself with a thermal foil blanket to keep warm.
  • After 50 minutes, unwrap yourself and dry off.  Allow the solution to remain on your skin for at least 8 hours (so wait to shower).
  • While you may be tired after the wrap, you should feel rejuvenated and more energetic the next day.  You’ll see results after just one wrap, but if you do this wrap once every 10 days for 4-5 times you’ll see even better results.
Tips for Using
  • Take a warm shower before applying wrap. This will open the pores.
  • If you find it difficult to apply the wraps on your own, ask a friend for assistance.
  • Be sure to drink plenty of (8 oz) water both before and after your wrap. That will help in flushing out the toxins and dislodged fat. Keep a glass of water nearby so you can sip while you relax.
  • Remember to avoid unhealthy substances prior to the body wrap. Try to avoid caffeine, sugar, fried fatty foods, soda drinks, cigarettes and alcohol at least for the next 48 hours.
  • It can also be boring laying in the tub and staring at the ceiling for 45 min.  To help make the time go by faster, you can listen to your favorite music on a walkman or bring in a portable television.
  • You may substitute any of the ingredients for other herbal extracts and essential oils. You may also include whole milk, goat's milk or witch hazel in place of any of the water in the body wrap.
